That is what us country people do. I learned to drive at age 10 and a stick shift no less. My sister was my teacher. How is that for legal? We lived on a dirt road and I was forever hopping in my dad's truck or mom's car driving around to see other family members.
It all paid off because when I took driver's ed., the teacher said I was the best driver he'd ever had!!
Michael has taught our Kyle to drive a little because he says that if we have an emergency he wants to be able to drive if he needs to. The kid is learning how to drive a standard!!
Mu husband and I were just talking about how young we were when we drove. My mom was out of town and my dad had to take a rental car back to the airport and didnt have anyone to follow and pick him up. I was 14 or 15 and he let me follow him about 25 miles in another car on the main road and interstate so he could have a ride home. Yes way illegal but boy did I feel like the coolest kid ever that day!! I am sure he knows what he is doing!!
I loved driving around my neighborhood before I had a license too!
