Another conversation with Kyle

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Well it's been a while since I have tickled your funny bone with another conversation with Kyle...who by the way is now 14 {gasp}...so I thought I would tell you a little story from the other night at our house.

Kyle has literally out grown everything he owns in the past 6 weeks. No joke!!! He has gained 10 pounds and grown over 2 inches in height (if he keeps this up I may just have to sent him off to live with a nudist colony, cause it is putting a major hurting on the ole wallet!)

Anyway, I decided I was going to measure his waist & inseam to see what size jeans we would need for back to school...and here is how it all went down.

Me: "Kyle, come here a minute and let me measure you."

Kyle: {after mumbles under his breath he enters the kitchen and turns around with his back to me}

Me: "no, I need you to turn and face me"

Kyle: {then turns around and stands with his feet together}

Me: "I need you to spread your legs apart."

Kyle: {does as instructed but has a weird expression on his face that says that I must be the dumbest person to walk the face of the earth}

Me: { I then take the tape measure in hand and take in up to "the forbidden region"}

Kyle: {then jerks back and yells} "What are you doin women!"

Me: "I am measureing your inseam!"

Kyle: {still VERY unsure with this entire ordeal} " My what!"

Me: "I am measuring to see how long your leg is."

****okay, maybe I should not have used the term leg to him*****

Kyle: {then gives me the evil eye with a smirk on his face as if he doesn't believe me}

Me: " Don't worry I am not try to measure and see how long your mess is!" {Kyle call his man parts his "Mess"}

Kyle: "alright, well just hurry it up would ya!"

I tell ya that boy is almost impossible sometimes!

Oh, and if any of you want to buy some American Eagle young mens jeans size 26/28, I have 5 pair for sell. Just let me know.

I am LOL because I remember my mom doing it to me and I thought it was weird. I can imagine a mama doing it to her son and his thoughts.

That is so funny. The things those boys put up with for their mommies.....

Teehee!!! When I worked at the school in the music department, I had to take ALL the measurements for all the girls in the colorguard for their uniforms for marching season...awkward!! Can't imagine having to measure my Kyle...he'd probably act EXACTLY the way yours did. ;)

HIlarious! Now, I am SO scared for that time myself. My boys already eat like horses! Hopefully, I can scare them like this too. You know, make mothering more fun!

I have a 12 year old stepson who lives with us. He's in that awkward stage where he thinks he's cool and a man and all that jazz....so dealing with all this "mess" and armpit hair and hygiene issues and and and...

UGH. I feel like I'm barely OUT of that "I'm still a kid" stage...how can I be part of raising a dude who is becoming...."manly" in certain ways? I don't envy you.

I wonder if those jeans would fit him....

(I'm blog hopping today...happy Friday!)
