With Mother's Day fast approaching I came up with a little quiz to give Kyle. Just to see just how well he knows his Momma. It was so funny to watch him ponder each question while shoving a ham & cheese hotpocket down his throat! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.... Each answer will be typed exactly as Kyle responded.
1. Where was Momma born? Kyle's answer, "Louisville, KY" Mom's reaction, "Do I look like Cardinal fan!" I will give him 1/2 pt for getting Ky correct. But I bleed Wildcat BLUE!
2. What is Momma's whole name? Kyle's answer, "Patricia Lynn Owens" 1pt
3. What was Momma's last name before I married Daddy? Kyle's answer, "Osborne" 1 pt...we are on a roll folks.
4. How tall is Momma? Kyle says, "I don't know, how tall is Daddy and I'll go from there" 0 pts
5. How old is Momma? Kylw says, "33" 1 pt
6. What makes Momma happy? Kyles answer, "Me" as he gets that cute little grin on his face. I will give him 1 pt anyway :O)
7. What is your favorite food Momma makes? Kyle's answer "Chicken & the white sauce"....aka Chicken Alfredo. 1 pt
8. How many brothers & sisters does Momma have? Kyle's answer, "1 brother Uncle Scotty" Mom says, "Is that all?" Kyle then ponders and says, " I would like to use a life line and call Mimi."......where does he come up with this stuff! I will give him 1pt due to living so far away from my extremly large step family. In Kyle's mind there is Uncle Scotty, Other Mimi (aka Melissa Sue), Uncle Jason, and Cody's Mom (aka Renee). Sorry to all the rest of the KY clan but in Kyle's world you are just somebodys Mom!
9. What makes Momma mad? Kyle's says,"Farting in the kitchen!" BINGO! 1pt (I should give him 1 more pt for extra credit on my pet peeve!"
10. What does Momma do for a living? Kyle says," Work as a Credit Manager at JJ Hianes & clean & cook & a bunch of things." Mom says" AMEN!" 1 pt
11. What job would Momma be good at? Kyles amswer, "riding a horse" I am not sure where this answer came from but I will give him 1 pt since I do know how to ride a horse.
12. What is Momma's favorite food? Kyle's answer, "ice cream" Mom's says "Yep, I love my ice cream...YUMMY!" 1pt
13. What is Momma's favorite thing to do? Kyle says, "Go to the beach" 1pt
14. What is Momma's favorite movie? Kyle's answer, "Coal Miner's Daugther".....boy to I have asmart kid or what....1pt
15. What is Momma's favorite song? Kyle's answer, "I don't know, maybe the song from Coal Miners Daughter?" Well, I'll give him 1/2 pt for that since I do love Loretta Lynn. But really it is "How Great Thou Art"
So there you have it folks. Straight from Kyle, his thoughts on Momma. With a total 13 points!!!! Not to bad for a twelve year old.

Busy Weekend!
Monday, April 27, 2009
Boy what a busy weekend....Friday night started out with the arrival of 3 huge boxes of candles that arrived for our youth group fundraiser for church....Chris was shocked, he tought I had done some MAJOR online shopping! Well, there was one small Hollister box :O)
So anyway, I spent my entire Friday night consumed by the aroma of 20 different smells of candles...UGH! After I sorted thru all 139 of them I am sure my kitchen looked like the Yankee Candle factory.
Saturday I spent the morning painting my friend Ashley's baby nursery with pink polka-dots. I must say it turned out really cute and I think she is pleased with the results. Her blog is http://www.heathbunch.blogspot.com/ if you want to check out my work.
Kyle and I then made our way back to Lenoir County via Kyle's "Mom turn here I know a short cut!" Well, I'm sure you can guess how that turned out. There is not a road left on the South side of the county that we did not travel down. However, Kyle did get us home. He is a whiz when it comes to a photographic memory. If he can see it one time he remembers it! It amazes Chris and I every day....well, except for brushing his teeth! He kept telling me, "Trust me Mom, me & Daddy been down these roads tons of times, WAIT, STOP turn here!" I think we past that same cow about 5 times!
Then we went to pick strawberries with my friend Marsha and her kids. And I think they ate just as much as they picked. After some much needed homemade strawberry icecream to cool us down it was back to my house so I could show Marsha how to make homemade preserves. Which I hope they turned out right due the choas of 4 kids running wild around my "not child proof home". Don't get me wrong, they are the cutest boys you have ever laid eyes on...as long as they don't move :O) It the span of less than 1 hour they managed to bounce a ball down the stair case breaking two of my glass candle sticks & break two of my thirsty stone coasters ( I didn't know that was possible)....maybe I should write the company....anyway where was I. Oh, the kids....the older two kids, my Kyle & her oldest Courtney tried to corral the younger two boys upstairs in the bonus room so we could finish up the preserves and clean up the broken glass. During that time the pizza man comes and Kyle's chocolate lab Chevy decided he was going to give the pizza man a stand off in the driveway. Most people tend to think that labs are very nice dogs and can be approaced by anyone.....well not Chevy! He has had run in's with our brick mason, the pizza man and even my friend Ashley (he backed her all the back into her truck while big sister watched with pride from the garage at her training in action). We always joke that he learned his bad attitude from his big sister (our 14 yr old Chow, Daquiri).
Boy what a weekend!!!!!! Kyle has now decided he loves being an only child and I thank God that we stopped with him!
Until next time~

Old pictures of our snow day!
Wednesday, April 22, 2009
I know these are from the first of March but since I have started this blog I feel I have so much catching up to do. Kyle stayed home by himself both days during the snow since Chris and I still had to work :O( Thank goodness they were already out for teacher work days so they didn't have to do make up days.
All the local kids had a blast playing in the snow...not to mention Chevy enjoyed it too! I myself never care to see the white stuff. The only thing I enjoy about the snow is making snow cream...YUMMY!
I know in the pictures it doesn't look like alot of snow but to these kids it seemed like 10 feet!. They slid down the hill on sleds, toy box lids (Kyle's brilliant idea) and even an old car hood turned upside down...welcome to snow in the South!
Well, I just thought I would share these with you guys. I'm sure by mid July when we have the sweltering heat we will look back at them and wish for more.....
Until next time.......
POLLEN CITY!!!!!
Monday, April 20, 2009
Well, I have finally come to the conclusion that pollen is the one thing God should have never created....I'm not sure what day God made it, but I'm pretty sure it could have been left out! I know everything was created for a reason and a purpose, I just never knew the purpose would cause my eyes to itch soooooooo BAD! I don't think it is normal for the white's of your eyes to swell?????
Chris and I started our Saturday by working in the yard and cleaning off both porches....what a chore! Well,Chris actually battled the ever present Kudzu which he is convinced grows a foot every second while I cleaned the porches! I tell ya, muscels I didn't even know I had hurt this morning! Kyle on the other hand laid low at Nana's house filling his belly with all the food she had in stock (we are beginning to think he is a cow since they have multiple stomaches.) Honestly, we have no idea where all that food goes!!! Nana & Papa took him to CiCi's pizza over the weekend and he actually ate more pizza than his Papa!!! (he should get some kind of thropy for that) I think his Papa was amazed to watch so many slices of pizza be hidden away in those long skinny legs of his. Anyway, enough about our son and his food fetish...... I will just have to apply for food stamps by the time he turns 13!
